Any Howard County School student; Grades K - 12

Connecting Communities Through Fair Housing

Prizes Awarded

First, second and third place winners will be awarded $500, $200 and $100 U.S. Savings Bond, respectively. Twelve posters will be featured in HRC's 2009 calendar.

Entry Requirements

All entries must be on white, 18 x 24 poster board in landscape format. Posters in other sizes or in portrait format will be disqualified.

The contest theme must be incorporated and be at least 2 inches high

Contestant's may use any color medium. The use of chalk, collages, or glitter is strongly discouraged. These materials are too fragile for printing process.

On the back of the poster, in the upper right hand corner, print you full name; grade; street address with city, state and zip code; home telephone number with area code; and school name.

Deadline

Entries must be received by 4 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2008.

All posters become the property of the Howard County Human Rights Commission and cannot be returned. The Commission will select 12 posters for its 2009 Fair Housing Calendar, which will be distributed to the winning students, County officials and the general public. Posters may be displayed in the Fair Housing Poster Showcase exhibit in April.
